Back to Top Invisalign ® Orthodontics Using the latest advances in 3-D computer technology, Dr. McNeill can provide you with a carefully produced series of customized Invisalign® aligners at her Seattle, Washington, area practice. Each set of aligners is worn for about two weeks, moving your teeth gradually - week by week, millimeter by millimeter - until the intended results are attained. Invisalign® has three advantages over metal braces. First, they are virtually invisible. Second, they are completely removable, which allows you to eat whatever you want. Third, they are more comfortable and have no metal to irritate your mouth. The duration of treatment depends on the severity of your case; however, the average length is about 12 months. If you would like to learn more about revolutionary Invisalign® technology, please contact our Seattle, Washington, area practice today. Back to Top BriteSmile ™ Teeth Whitening To better serve the needs of her patients, Dr. McNeill has chosen to use the most proven and trusted professional whitening system available, the extraordinarily effective BriteSmile™ system, at her Seattle area practice. The BriteSmile™ whitening procedure begins with the application of a specially formulated pH-balanced bleaching gel to the teeth. This gel is activated by exposure to a blue light that is wavelength specific to the gel. BriteSmile™ has proven to be both safe and gentle, and requires only a single office visit of about an hour. Following treatment, most patients experience teeth that are up to nine shades whiter. If you would like to schedule a BriteSmile™ session, our Redmond, Washington, practice would be pleased to accommodate you. Please feel free to contact Dr. McNeill and the Smile Artistry team for more information. Smile Artistry now offers BriteSmile™ gift certificates. These images are transmitted to a computer monitor, allowing Dr. McNeill to communicate information about diagnosis and treatment options with patients more easily than was possible in the past. Back to Top Non-Surgical Lasers At Smile Artistry, the scalpel is a tool of the past. Tissue-removing lasers are more precise and far gentler than traditional instruments. Lasers also allow for substantially shorter healing and recovery times for our patients. Using lasers, we can treat a variety of oral problems, including periodontal infections, imperfections in the shape of the gums, and cold sores. Back to Top Digital X-Rays The digital x-ray system featured at our Seattle area practice allows us to provide instant x-rays while reducing the patient's exposure to radiation by as much as 95 percent. We provide this amenity to our valued patients because digital x-rays are quicker, safer, and more convenient than traditional x-rays. Back to Top Laser Cavity Detection At Smile Artistry, we use a laser cavity detector to scan teeth for hidden decay. This harmless laser light is able to detect microscopic decay 12 to 18 months before it is visible to the naked eye. Traditional methods of cavity detection, such as x-rays and probing with an explorer, are simply unreliable in detecting sub-surface decay, particularly when the cavity is in its early stages. Back to Top Perioscopy Perioscopy is a new procedure that involves the use of a miniature dental endoscope. This technology enables us to diagnose and treat areas below the gum line without the discomfort and inconvenience associated with surgery. Perioscopy is used to diagnose gum disease, cavities, fractures, and other tooth problems under the gum line. Before the advent of this technology, such diagnosis was impossible without surgery. Smile Artistry was one of the first practices in Washington to introduce this technology.

Back to Top Computerized Bite Analysis The K-7 is an effective technology for evaluating and treating your overall oral health by allowing us to consider how your muscles, teeth, bite, and joints all work together. An incorrect bite can cause a variety of dental problems, including fractured teeth and gum recession. Problems with the temporomandibular joint, or TMJ, can result in headaches, neck aches, and even back pain. The K-7 helps to take the subjectivity out of traditional bite assessments. To evaluate, we first relax the muscles by electrodes that are attached over nerves that control specific facial muscle groups. After a period, this virtually painless procedure will allow the muscles to overcome their natural programming and go into a deeply relaxed state. We record all of this information with the aid of sensors, electronic monitoring equipment, and computer software. We compare your usual bite with the relaxed jaw position to determine whether your jaw is presently in a near optimal position. This allows us to decide whether and how the bite should be adjusted. Back to Top Computer Controlled Local Anesthetic Delivery ('The Wand') At Smile Artistry, we are able to deliver local anesthetic at precise flow rates to numb tissue. The pressure is custom controlled to each patient, resulting in effective and comfortable numbing of the tissue. Back to Top Virtual TV/Audio We invite our patients to take full advantage of all amenities offered at Smile Artistry, including our virtual TV glasses and our extensive selection of music. Feel free to watch your favorite TV show or listen to music while we perfect your smile. Back to Top Automated Patient Reminder System For your convenience, Smile Artistry has an automated system to help remind you of upcoming appointments. Of course, we also contact our patients personally by telephone or, if they prefer, e-mail and cell phone text messaging.
